Made in 2010 as a part of a series of paintings I created about a meditation on music and friends called "Mezza Voce" which means muted voice.
I painted each painting only while listening to one song which I chose based on the energy I wanted to project onto them - and that which I thought suited their personalities.
At the time, I was heavily listening to Josh Groban, so this piece was created by listening to his song, "You Are Loved." At the time, I needed some uplifting, so I chose yellow as a cheerful color, and vibrant colors to convey myself in a positive light.
This series of six paintings was exhibited at Nuevo Cafe in 2010 in Corpus Christi, which was my first solo exhibit. It is not framed.
The painting is rare in that it is the only one of its kind, but it is also signed with my maiden name: Angela Schwengler. I only painted for 6 years before I became married and changed my name.
Dimensions: 24" x 36"
Media: acrylic paint
